NEW SONARÈ TRUMPETS @ PROZONE MUSIC

BRAND NEW AND EXCLUSIVE to Prozone Music, SONARE trumpets are proving a big hit with our customers . Pro's, Pro-Ams and students alike have been choosing these new trumpets above many of the leading manufacturers. Featuring a BLACKBURN leadpipe as standard on all models, they blow......shockingly well. No gimmics, no high tech jargan, these trumpets simply play better than most, with price tags that blow alot of the competition out of the water. Read on.........

Featuring 500, 600, 800 and 900 series models, all represent unbelievable value for money, playability and quality of workmanship.

500 + 600 Series - Feature a Blackburn lead pipe, ML bore, Lacquer finish (Silver plate and upgraded trim kit on 600 series - the only differenceds we can tell). Parts are manufactured in Taiwan and assembly takes place in the US. This is the reason for the reduced price of the 500 and 600 series. The tuning is great. The Blackburn Lead pipe gives a very honest sound with the focus, projection and solidity of blow not found on instruments of this price bracket up until now. At £749 and £850 respectfully, these two trumpets are magnificently well placed in the market. The 500 Series features black valve caps and silver valve tops and bottoms, whilst the 600 series features gold leaf valve caps with black inset stones, and gold leaf valve tops and bottoms. Both are 'Bling' enough to satisfy the most fashion conscious player.

800 + 900 Series - both feature a ML bore and solid valve block - an upgraded version compared to the 600 and 700 series and upgraded bell. The 900 series features a sterling silver Blackburn lead pipe. Entirely made in the US, the masterful collaboration with Blackburn means that these trumpets are one of the most focused and slotted blows around. Many of the top players who have play tested this new trumpet have immediately commented on how well the famously insecure notes slot straight into place with great tuning and projection. Unlike other brands renowned for a secure but potentially 'safe' blow, this trumpet also has the flexibility to allow the player to produce the 'wow' factor if required in any playing setting. With very friendly price tags on all models, we predict big things for these trumpets. With an extra push up to the 900 series and so the sterling silver leadpipe (well worth it in our opinion and visible on the lacquer finish model - yum yum) you are looking at the most SERIOUS of instrument for inside £1600!  With some exciting UK endorsees on the cards, and significant financial savings to be made compared to the competition, we expect to see many around the professional and advanced player circles very soon.

600 Series - Lacquer - Blackburn lead pipe - ML Bore - £749

700 Series - Silver plate - Blackburn leadpipe - ML Bore - £850

800 Series  - Silver plate - Blackburn Lead pipe (US Built) ML Bore - £1475

900 Series - Lacquer - Sterling silver lead pipe (US Built) ML bore - £1499

900 Series - Silver plate finish - Sterling SIlver Blackburn Leadpipe (US built) ML Bore - £1599

If you don't believe us.........

“Sonaré trumpets are astounding.  I feel like I am playing the greatest modern trumpet in the world.” Lew Soloff, Jazz great

“The Sonare` Bb and C trumpets are terrific production model trumpets.  Not only are they superior in every way to Bach and Yamaha but amazingly affordable.   I am very impressed with the first-rate design and workmanship.” Calvin Price, San Diego Symphony, Principal Trumpet

“Rich and brilliant, the response factor is a good as in any trumpet I’ve played.   Intonation is superior.” Roger Blackburn, Philadelphia Orchestra

“The rich, warm, focused and balanced tone on the Sonaré trumpets allows me to freely express myself as an artist.   I highly recommend them to any trumpeter looking for an instrument that has excellent workmanship, but doesn’t sacrifice playability.   I have used the 800 series in every musical situation possible and the horn just keeps asking for more.  Bravo Sonaré!” Seelan Manickam, Trumpet, Bala Brass Quintet

“The Sonaré trumpet is truly a work of art.   It allows me the freedom to really play with a full range of dynamics and emotion.   It has amazing response and it slots incredibly well in the upper register.   I attribute this to the wonderful craftsmanship and the unique lead pipe design of Cliff Blackburn. Johnny Hodges, Big Apple Circus, Principal

“For years trumpet players have been buying Bachs and Yamahas off of the shelf and then modifying them with Blackburn leadpipes, cryogenic treatments, valve alignments, and all sorts of other treatments.   Now players can skip all of that and buy a Sonaré with the same "modifications" already built into the horn.   Brilliant!  It has officially replaced my old Bach as my primary B-flat trumpet.”   Dr. Adam W. Gaines, Trumpet Instructor, University of Wisconsin

 AND THE CRITICS AGREE…

“The horn slots beautifully, and even when you first play it, there’s a fluidity,  a smooth feeling or air moving through the horn that gives a singing feeling.  With the TRB-500 model, I sometimes forgot I was playing on an intermediate horn.”  Mike Pavlik, Downbeat Magazine, November 2009

“The demands of today’s professional trumpeting keep increasing. Ranges and dynamics are extreme and intervallic demands require a player to have flexibility, power and grace.  The Sonaré will certainly fit the bill, approaching a near-perfect 10.  From working professional to the serious student, the Sonaré TRC-900S is a great horn and an even wiser buy.  The Sonaré sings.”  Nick Mondello, Jazz Improv Magazine, June 2008

“The Sonaré C trumpet is a well constructed instrument, with a solid tone and great response (with) excellent intonation, especially in the high register.”  Brian Schwab, Downbeat Magazine, October 2007

“The Sonaré trumpet has a solid, meaty tone, yet the trumpet responds as if it were lighter, with notes that slot well and are easy to center.” Mike Pavlik, Downbeat Magazine, January 2006

OTHER NEWS!

On the accessory side there are a few seriously hot products at the moment. On the gig/bag case front, Marcus Bonna cases are stealing the show. Hand made in Brazil, they have been around for a while but supply has often been a problem. Prozone Music has ordered lots and so supply is a problem no longer! On the trombone side there are three options. Tenor with Mute, Bass (very compact, also fits tenor trombone) and super lightweight (very compact, only fits tenor). All priced at £295 they aren’t cheap but they provide unrivalled protection, great build quality and an ergonomic, lightweight design. Despite the pictures below, all of our stock is in black (seems to be what players prefer).

ALSO AVAILABLE ARE!!!

Bass Trombone

The options for trumpeters are also good. The two most popular designs are a triple and a quad case. The back pack system is really comfy and the quad is the most compact we have seen. What with airline problems and generally more high-end trumpets being used, pros are moving away from the traditional gig bag in favour of better protection for the instruments. The triple costs £195 and the Quad is £225. Again not cheap but money well spent when you take into account the quality of build and protection provided. The triple can be adapted to take 1 trumpet + flugel and the quad will take 2 trumpets and flugel.

BEST BRASS WARM UP MUTES

Also appealing to both trumpet and trombone payers alike are Best Brass warm up mutes. Designed by the same chap responsible for the Yamaha silent brass system, I have no idea how these work! They are extremely small, fitting entirely inside the bell and therefore fitting in and taking no room in any case. They are whisper quiet and ideal for warming up on stage or in the pit. First championed by trombonists, trumpeters have now caught on and they are seriously popular. The tenor and bass trombone mutes are £89.99 and the trumpet version is £59.99. Quite expensive, but well worth it as this mute soon becomes an essential part of your playing routine. Click here to buy one
